Discover Tan Doo for teams.
Team stuck in the same meeting loops? Try a picture, not to blame, but to see.
Words get tangled at home, and at work. Teams, colleagues, managers and direct reports all bring feelings, history, and expectations into every meeting. The Tan Doo image + action cards (part of the OH Cards family) give teams a low-risk, creative way to externalize tension, surface assumptions, and build shared narratives that move people from blame → curiosity → action.

Why Tan Doo works in the workplace
Projective images bypass the brain’s automatic filters, that’s useful in therapy and very useful at work.
- Lowered defenses = safer feedback. Talking about a card is less personal than calling someone out. That makes peer feedback, 1:1s, and retrospectives less threatening.
- Externalization = clearer problems. Teams place “the problem” on the table as a shared object. This helps shift from “who failed” to “what’s the pattern.”
- Narrative & role clarity. Building a team story (Past → Present → Future) helps align expectations between managers and reports, and clarifies which actions change outcomes.
- Perspective-taking for leaders. Drawing or choosing cards for another role (e.g., “pick a card that shows how your team sees you”) generates empathy and actionable insight for managers.
- Decision framing & creative solutions. Random image prompts break cognitive ruts so teams can ideate outside usual constraints.
Activities to run with teams
Here are practical ways to bring the 44 image cards and 44 action cards into the team’s space.
- Team “Weather” Pulse
Each person picks one image card representing the team mood. Each shares one sentence about why. Use this at the start of a meeting to calibrate energy and priorities — skip debate, just register. - Project Roadmap: Past → Present → Future
Lay three image cards for the project’s Past, Present, Future. Add one action card to bridge Present → Future (a concrete next step). Use results to create an immediate sprint/meeting action or owner. - Role-Swap Empathy
Manager and direct report each choose a card that represents what they think the other is experiencing. Read aloud and then ask: “What surprised you?” Great for performance check-ins and reducing misinterpretation. - Conflict Reframe for Meetings & Decisions
When a discussion stalls, draw one image at random and ask: “How might this image suggest a solution we haven’t tried?” Promotes creative problem-solving and defuses heat.

Use one card, one question, one action.
Who this helps at work
- Teams stuck in recurring conflicts or miscommunications
- Managers wanting clearer, psychologically-safe feedback loops
- HR / OD practitioners designing experiential team-building or offsites
- Facilitators and coaches who need a lightweight tool for reflection and decision-making
How to use this in workshops and facilitation
In facilitated sessions, combine the cards with timed sharing rules, simple reflective prompts, and an action-mapping step so insights turn into measurable next steps. The cards are a bridge, not a replacement, for structured team practices like after action reviews (AAR), 1:1s, and leadership coaching.
Combining decks
Like all OH Card series decks, Tan Doo cards are designed to be used in conjunction with others. For example, placing an Tan Doo picture card inside an OH word card can lead to new combinations and insights or reflecting Tan Doo action cards with Personita cards. This modularity allows users to combine different themes, expanding the possibilities for storytelling, reflection, and therapy.
