Gain awareness, turn insight into change — join our OH Cards workshops at Joyful Soul Psychology

Practice that changes our life. One card, one small experiment at a time.

Making space for inner works.

Four short, experiential clinics to build resilience, reconnect with our inner child, turn overthinking into mindful action, and create more secure relationships.

We design small, practice-first workshops that use OH Cards + short mindfulness and coaching strategies so you don’t just understand things, you try one tiny experiment before you leave. Of course, having some fun along the way.

Experiential workshops

1. Resilience Reset — From Saboteur (inner critic) to Sage (inner ally)

What it is: PQ micro-reps, Choice Theory reframes, OH Card solo-draws and 1–2 SMART micro-experiments to practise resilience in daily life.
Clinical rationale: Resilience is less about grit and more about rapid regulation and choice. Short somatic regulation (breath/ PQ reps) restores prefrontal function; metaphor via cards surfaces automatic meanings; micro-experiments rebuild self-efficacy.
Real benefit: Clear, repeatable tools to down-regulate stress, interrupt rumination, and respond with purpose.
If we don’t have these skills: We may be more likely to react under pressure, experience decision paralysis, or recover slower from setbacks.

2. Reconnect with our Inner Child

What it is: Gentle card work, guided visualization and micro-practices to identify a core need and design compassionate, realistic actions.
Clinical rationale: By personifying experiences as a younger version of ourself, we can bypass adult layers of intellectualisation to foster genuine self-empathy. It is also easier to offer ourself the same kindness we would naturally give to a vulnerable child.
Real benefit: Greater self-compassion, clearer boundary practice, and practical self-care rituals we can actually keep.
If we don’t have these skills: Old patterns may repeat (people-pleasing, self-criticism), making relationships and goals harder to sustain.

3. From Overthinking to Overcoming

What it is: Use OH Cards to externalize rumination, practice mindful anchors, and create implementation intentions so thought loops turn into tiny experiments.
Clinical rationale: Rumination keeps the brain stuck in the threat loop. Bringing images into the open + brief mindfulness reduces cognitive load. Implementation intentions (if-then plans) automate better responses.
Real benefit: Less time lost to second-guessing; clearer decisions and faster follow-through on priorities.
If we don’t have these skills: We risk chronic indecision, low productivity, and increased anxiety.

4. Secure Connections — Attachment & Healthy Relationship Skills

What it is: OH Cards to map relational patterns, psychoeducation about attachment styles, and to practise secure-base habits.
Clinical rationale: Attachment frameworks explain recurring relational patterns. Metaphor helps name defensive scripts; coached micro-experiments rehearse secure behaviour in low-risk settings.
Real benefit: Improved communication, fewer reactivity cycles, and more predictable closeness in key relationships.
If we don’t have these skills: We may repeat push/pull cycles, avoid intimacy or over-depend on others, increasing relational stress.

Why this approach works? Our reasoning

OH Cards access implicit meaning non-verbally; brief mindfulness and somatic techniques lower threat so learning can happen; coaching reframes insight into tiny, testable actions. The result is insight that’s safer, more embodied, and more likely to translate into behaviour change.

Start small. Start kindly.
Practice that changes our life, one card, one small experiment at a time.

What life can look like after attending (realistic outcomes)

  • Notice triggers sooner and choose a small response instead of reacting.
  • Have 1–3 micro-practices to use next week (breath, prompt, script).
  • Greater clarity on one relationship pattern or one recurring stressor and a first experiment to change it.
  • Increased confidence to run tiny tests in real life and collect quick feedback.

Important: Workshops are not therapy. They’re short, skills-focused clinics. We run these as coaching/skills workshops, not psychotherapy. These workshops are best for people who want experiential practice, immediate tools, and accountability to try small changes. If you need ongoing clinical or coaching work, we are able to support you individually. Your safety and confidentiality are paramount.

What’s realistic and ethical to promise

  • We promise: evidence-informed facilitation, small groups, guided practice, and a clear action you can start immediately.
  • We do not promise: instant transformation, cure for clinical disorders, or a substitute for long-term therapy.
the first courageous act

  • People curious about non-verbal approaches (metaphor, craft, sensory anchors).
